Monthly Themes & Lessons

Classroom Lessons

Students will receive developmentally appropriate lessons twice per month in each classroom based on academic, personal, interpersonal, career, and healthy development.  Classroom guidance lessons follow the same themes throughout K-5, but are differentiated for grade appropriateness.  Classroom guidance lesson topics are as follows:

5th Grade-Middle School Transition

Second Step Curriculum

Throughout the school year Mrs. Jenkins provides Second Step lessons to each class in addition to the classroom counseling lessons.  Second Step is an evidence based social-emotional curriculum that teaches skills for learning, empathy, emotion management, and problem solving skills.
